Leslie Knowlton has a great passion for the artists, history, and culture of the Southwest and founded Suddenly Seen Southwestern Treasures to offer a wide range of products and share tidbits on southwestern cultural history. The shop is all about the Southwest's dusty, dry, sparse beauty and offers new pieces every week.
Leslie’s visions are inspired by her mother and her best friend, who were raised in the desert of Phoenix, AZ. Her aesthetic sensibility is punctuated by a fine balance of elegance and austere beauty. She also collects Taxco Mexican sterling silver design pieces.
Her family has also collected unique pieces of beautiful old pawn jewelry from Arizona and New Mexico.
Leslie appreciates the designs of William Spratling. William designs silver primarily focused on pre-Columbian and traditional motifs and has employed local goldsmiths in Taxco to create the designs. For his workshop, Taller de las Delicias, Spratling was the primary designer and was meticulous about the quality of the materials and techniques used in manufacturing.
Leslie creates products that can be traced back to the rich cultural history of the Southwest.
